On June 18 and 19, 2026, in Vinh Kim and Nhi Truong communes, Samaritan’s Purse, in coordination with  the Provincial Center for Disease Control, distributed eyeglasses to students with refractive errors.

Within the framework of the “Community Transformation to Adapt and Thrive” Project, implemented in Vinh Long province from 2025 to 2027, Samaritan’s Purse (SP) is collaborating with the implementing unit, the Provincial Center for Disease Control (CDC), to conduct refractive error screenings for 1,025 students at Truong Tho A Primary School, Nhi Truong B Primary School, Son Vong Secondary School, and Nhi Truong Secondary School.

The screenings identified 107 students with refractive errors affecting their daily lives and studies. Based on the screening results, SP and partner units provided free eyeglasses to all 107 students from the four schools, with a total value of approximately 21 million VND.

At the distribution event, SP representatives instructed the students on how to use and care for their eyeglasses. They also provided advice on daily living and study habits to protect eyesight and reduce refractive error-related issues.

School representatives and parents expressed their gratitude to SP and partner units for their care and support, which help local students improve their learning conditions and enhance their quality of life. The eyeglass distribution event was held in a cheerful and enthusiastic atmosphere, bringing practical and meaningful support to the students.
